Datacenter vs ISP proxy cost

Last checked: 2026-11-06

From the same provider, ISP cost about 3.5 to 13 times as much per GB as datacenter on 2026-11-06. At Decodo, 100 GB was $54 on datacenter and $200 on ISP. The gap only matters if both work for your job, so the fair measure is cost per successful GB.

We have not tested these services, so we do not say which type works on any site. The prices below come from each provider's own page, at regular rates. Oxylabs, Decodo and Webshare share a parent group, Source, so do not treat them as independent price checks. See the database for the group note.

Same provider, per GB

Provider and volumeDatacenter per GBISP per GBISP as a multiple
Bright Data, pay as you go$0.60$8.0013.3x
Decodo, 10 GB plan$0.60$2.754.6x
Decodo, 100 GB plan$0.54$2.003.7x
Decodo, 250 GB plan$0.51$1.803.5x

The Bright Data datacenter rate came from a fetched page summary, so treat it as medium confidence. Multiples are our sums. Decodo's largest ISP plan shown is 250 GB, so we do not compare it at 1 TB. Oxylabs prices ISP per IP, so it is in the next table.

Same provider, per IP

Provider and sizeDatacenter per IPISP per IPISP as a multiple
Bright Data, 100 shared IPs$1.00$1.451.5x
Bright Data, 1,000 shared IPs$0.90$1.301.4x
Oxylabs, Basic plan$0.90$1.401.6x
Oxylabs, Flexible plan$0.80$1.201.5x
Webshare, 100 proxies$0.0299$0.3010.0x
IPRoyal, 30 days, starting priceFrom $1.57From $2.701.7x

These are not always the same product. Webshare's datacenter row includes 250 GB of bandwidth. Decodo's datacenter Pay/IP plans are shared IPs at about $0.035 each at 100 IPs, and its ISP plans in this unit are dedicated IPs at $2.60 each at 100 IPs, so we left it out of the table. Do not rank providers on the unit price alone, and do not compare per-IP prices with per-GB prices.

When the cheaper type stops being cheaper

If failed traffic is billed, cost per successful GB is the rate divided by the success rate. So compare the two rates. At Decodo's 100 GB plans, $0.54 / $2.00 = 27%. With ISP at 100%, datacenter stays cheaper per successful GB until its success rate falls below 27%. If ISP succeeds 80% of the time, the line is about 21.6%.

These percentages are arithmetic, not measured rates. Run a small test on your own lawful target, then enter your numbers in the proxy cost calculator.

Read the plan as well as the rate

Oxylabs sells one plan that funds a credit balance, so the rate depends on the plan you pay for. See Oxylabs pricing explained. For the Decodo plan sizes, see Decodo pricing explained. For per-proxy plans, see Webshare vs IPRoyal pricing.

Lawful use depends on the place, the data and the site's terms. This is not legal advice.
